I stand corrected! You know, as it was coming out of my mouth I wondered if someone out there was growing some sort of kiwi.. you just never know! But then sometimes you don't have time to speculate on these things! And I'm fairly sure hers come from elsewhere.. I'll have to ask!

Thanks for the info - they sound wonderful. I wish I could grow kiwi in my back yard!

Hey Julie - love the blog! I love food and enjoy getting ideas from your site. I listened to you on CBC this morning (as always) and just have one little thing that I need to correct you on. You said that kiwis don't grow on the Island (when you were speaking about the fruit in the salsa that goes with the fish tacos) but I have to tell you that you are wrong. My parents have a little piece of land just outside of Nanaimo and they have a lovely kiwi plant/bush/tree that grows great little kiwis. They are much smaller than the ones that are at the grocery store but they are pretty darn yummy! Anyways, thanks for the story about SOBO. I'm heading out to the Island this week for a visit and am going to try to get to Tofino, just to try the food (and maybe to enjoy the West Coast...)
