Well that's what i get for not visiting Julie's blog for a week. I missed the whole contest! (Not that her mom could win anyway.) So then I tried to read all the comments. It would take me all night! But to Gerardo, I must say I identify with you. I wanted Rachel's dinner (baked mac and cheese and cherry crisp both in the same meal!) but had leftover spaghetti (that was only left over because it wasn't very good in the first place).

Hey J - can I offer the prize for Free Stuff Friday tomorrow? Nothing close to a crockpot, but a nice little stainless steel Digital Instant Read Thermometer. Yeah, okay, it's the one you gave me to give someone else when I needed a gift on short notice, which I then didn't use (it's the thought that counts after all...). And can i request a recipe (from you or any of your readers)? As you know, I don't much like veggies, but sure would like to find some recipes that would make me look forward to eating them...

Diane and Coralee - I didn`t mean to dis Edmonton - I know there are some great independants there! It apparently is the chain restaurant capital though.. there are seriously more chain restaurants there than anywhere else. (I was mostly referring to what was available in the vicinity of the Indy though.. not much out there..)
