Choc Chip Zucchini Cake 1 1024x725 In Case You Missed It

There’s always deliciousness going on over at the Family Kitchen, and some things that come out of my kitchen go over there, and so I can’t share them with you here. But I want you to know about them, you know, in case it’s something you’re into, like Double Chocolate Zucchini Cake. (The very best delivery method for zucchini, I think.)

Speaking of cake, we made Lemonade Cupcakes with Fresh Raspberry Frosting, too. So summery.

Then there was that bowl of Bacon & Potato Cheddar Chowder – great rainy-day food.

The folks at Martha Stewart Living shared a pretty fab Asian-inspired feast. If you’re all barbecued out (or even if you’re not – those chops would do well on the grill) or are tired of takeout, give it a whirl.

Living Mango Brulee 911x1024 In Case You Missed It

For dessert, bruleed fresh mango with lime. So easy, so fast, so back porch-able! This technique would work well with other fresh fruit in season too, I think. Peaches and nectarines from the Okanagan. Yes.

So… it was my 39th birthday yesterday. I decided to take the opportunity to make my own cake. I, of course, jumped on your site and looked at all the yummy ideas. I made the sunken chocolate with mounds of whipped cream and wild blackberries. My 7 year old said it was the best cake he had ever tasted… I had to hold my lit number candles “3″ & “9″ as they sang… but it was a very yummy, fun change. Thanks for being a cyber part of my life these last few years!
