How to Make Pie in Portland

Hey all! I’m in Portland, at IFBC! And eating enough for all of you. You’re welcome.

To keep you satiated, I thought I’d share this awesome set of instructions I saw at the Pie Spot, one of Portland’s awesome food carts. (They call them carts here, rather than trucks, probably because most of them aren’t trucks, and they tend to stay in one spot, like a vacant lot-turned uber-hip outdoor food court with little hanging lights, picnic tables, and in this case, live bands and beer.) Doesn’t it make you want to open a little portable pie place? Me too. (PS: if you do, let me know! And maybe come park it in front of my house someday.)

I ADORE Portland! Was just there in July again. Being there for a food conference could only make it better! Enjoy!

Mmmm pie! I just saw the Artigiano food cart on an Eat St. rerun – pasta from scratch every day, looks so good!

I’ve only just stumbled across your blog for the first time and I’m in love with this photo! It came up when I clicked on your blog and found myself staring at it for at least a minute! Love it.

Go to the Czech pork cutlet cart. I still think about that sandwich.
